Throughout the program, students will be mentored in ways to disseminate research at conferences and in publications in order to share their work and build their careers. Six hours of practicum provide an opportunity to conduct research and practice with an approved entity; and elective courses are intended to support an area of interest and expertise. In consultation with program faculty, the program director may recommend specific courses to support the student's knowledge-base (for example, in design, writing, subject matter knowledge, and/or teaching).

The student will learn how to make a screen, cut a variety of stencils, prepare the screen and print an image. Students will print on a variety of substrates including multicolor prints on T-shirts.
Begin the transition from student to professional designer with an internship in a real world setting. The last requirement for completing the DCA program is a final portfolio review. It is conducted via a 30-minute Zoom call with our program director, Scott Hutchinson, along with one other DCA instructor.
